Since 1835 the nursery property has been in the Miller family. Pesca Flora proudly continues their 190 year legacy with ornamental plants in the greenhouses and nursery property.
Greenhouse Beginnings
In 1880, Joseph Randall Miller took ownership of a nursery and began selling ornamental plants. His son, Joseph Warren Miller, continued the legacy in 1914 by adding cold frames for plants and seedlings while farming 65 acres of land. Using a horse and wagon, he made regular deliveries to the grater Pottstown region, establishing strong ties with the community.
In 1938, David Miller's father joined Joseph Warren Miller in the business, and together they built their first greenhouse—a pivotal moment in their family’s horticultural journey.
David Miller grew up working alongside his father in the greenhouses, learning the trade firsthand. By 1973, he took charge of Easter bulb production, and in 1975, they became partners. Though his father retired in 1977, his guidance remained invaluable as he continued to support the greenhouse operations.
David Miller and his wife April grow ornamental plants, seasonal potted varieties, vegetables, and more. Their clients range from community members to garden centers, landscapers, florists, churches, and other greenhouses. They also support non-profits like schools, PTAs, fire companies, and bands.
